Dracula

Costume Design Class Project

Part One - Redesign costumes for main five characters of the 1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula, starring Gary Oldman. Use an artist of choice as inspiration for designs. Additionally, create a stamp design to use throughout the costumes. Shown: Initial stamp sketch, carved stamp, silk printed with stamp.

Part Two- Choose a song (any genre, time period) to create a music video for inspired by the story of Dracula, particularly Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). Design Dracula's costume for the music video. Storyboard the music video.

Song chosen: "Poetry for the Poisoned (Parts I-IV)" by Kamelot, from their 2010 album, Poetry for the Poisoned.
Story of the song, as written: An incubus falls in love with a human woman. Not wanting to kill her by using her as his sole source of nourishment, the incubus leaves her and breaks both their hearts.
Changes for music video design: Instead of an Incubus, Dracula is a vampire. While the song itself does not give a sure ending to the incubus's story, Dracula does choose to not feed ever again after leaving his human love and eventually dies to the sun's rays.

Part Three - Design a Dracula-themed toothpaste commercial. Can be any type of production, including cartoon. Design Dracula and draw storyboards.
